Porcuna, my stay
I arrived in Porcuna after a very nice day of cycling, even partly over the Vía Verde de la Subbética. Porcuna is a smaller town and is situated at the edge of a cliff of some 100 meters high. The view from there and to there is stunning.
Although this is a total monoculture and more and more inhabitants realise their beautiful country is slowly disappearing behind those millions and millions of (only) olive trees. ...

New days started ...
Porcuna has a nice T-shaped boulevard that ends at that cliff.
And here you see a typical spanish menucard. It took me quite some time to understand what raciones are. But it is easy : raciones means portion(s). The raciones are ment to order when you are with more people. They are not anything like a menu but have only one ingredient. You could say they are the multi-persons tapas. So the croquetas casera are only the homemade croquettes. That way it is easy to have your table filled with many kinds of food. Then anyone can taste whatever (s)he wants.
The problem however is that this size is only convenient for groups of people. And that it only is one ingredient, not ie a dish also with vegetables. So the raciones-system is bad for single persons.
At the end of the boulevard is this nice church, however it was closed.
But with the Panasonic FZ1000 camera 🖱️ camera any window or any hole will do 👍.

This is an example of an olive oil press of the old days at the beginning of the industrial revolution. Not that very old days however then this one was already belt-driven just as my OntheRoad 4.0 bicycle is.
Happily there were only few tourists 😗.
The owner of my hotel also runs a restaurant nearby.
I noticed that by accident then there is no information in the hotelrooms.
So I suggested him to inform his hotelguests about his restaurant, ie by having a menucard in the rooms.
But when I asked for the menucard he explained there was none !
However the chef was willing to write all eatings he knew were available on this piece of paper.
When I put that paper in my pocket he made clear he would like to keep it
"then this was now the menucard and therefore handy to have".
The next day I returned to have diner. The restaurant was closed and there was no info at all about any openinghours 💢. How to Not earn Money ?! However my room was oké and food was to have everywhere in town.

Zeus, Supreme God and god of the heavenly realm, the sky and the weather
sent me an email to make clear weather would change soon again.
Cycling west into the direction of Cordoba and Sevilla was not a wise idea.
Probably even not anymore for the rest of this year.
I had a pleasant stay in Porcuna, and even with lots of beautiful weather 🌞. And I had determined where to cycle next. Up to that surprise in the next blog 💨 !
